7 Days Tour to discover the north of Morocco, visiting the Rif, Chefchaouen the famous “blue-village” and the Atlantic beaches of northern Morocco
DAY 1: Tangier – Tetouan – CHAOUEN (100 km).
Picked up by our guide at the airport or port of Tangier right place at the agreed start of the tour and time. Departure to Chefchaouen, making a stopover to explore Tetouan, where they will meet the medina and the most emblematic places of the city. Continuation to Chefchaouen, blue mysterious town founded as a secret place from which to attack the Portuguese installed on the north coast. It was completely banned from entering the European people until the arrival of the Spanish troops in 1920. Arriving in Chefchaouen and free afternoon to have a first contact with the city. Accommodation in hotel / riad.
DAY 2: CHAOUEN
Breakfast and free day to explore Chefchaouen, holy town perched on the mountain, located in a nature reserve of the biosphere. Its streets painted white and blue villa wise, kind and friendly people, offer visitors beautiful urban panoramas in decline, precious samples of local crafts and a peace and serenity that is hard to find today. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 3: CHAOUEN – FEZ (450 km).
Continue your journey to Fez, Imperial City dating back to the eighth century. It is also one of the first holy cities of Muslim worship in Morocco and it is proud to host one of the oldest universities in the world. Free afternoon to rest and take a first contact with the city that will transport you back in time.
DAY 4: FEZ: GUIDED TOUR
Breakfast and tour of the most important places of Fez. On entering the streets of the medina (old city) will feel that time flows backwards: the guild structure is still present in the workplace, the narrowness of the streets does not allow other means of transport donkeys and a constant swarm of people move through the labyrinthine alleys through which you will be amazed neighborhoods such as Andalusian, magnificent mosques and Koranic schools. Fez has always been associated with the study and piety, and remains the spiritual capital of Morocco. Visit the Medina of Fez el-Bali, one of the largest preserved medieval sites in the world, declared World Heritage more than 30 years ago. After the Medina, the Medersa Attarine, one of the most striking Koranic schools in Fez. The following points in the itinerary are the Ennajarine Source and the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss, founder of Fez. The Karawiyin Mosque, Karawiyin belonging to the University, the oldest in history, founded in 880 and, finally, may subsequently meet the Medina of Fez Jdid, the new part of the city. DAY 5: FEZ – Meknes – Volubilis – Moulay Idriss – MEKNES (180 Km).
After breakfast we will head west to get to Volubilis, the ancient Roman city where the most important archaeological sites in Morocco. EnVolúbilis free time to visit the area quietly. Possibility of guided tour with local guide to better understand these important ruins. After enjoying the impressive Roman remains they were closer to Moulay Idriss, one of the most important pilgrimage centers of Morocco. It is a small town where you can meet the most interesting of the medina in under an hour. The third stop will be Meknes, the more “humble” of the four imperial cities of Morocco. In Meknes have free time for lunch and visit the most important places of the city, enter its souk or enjoy a coffee in the square. Dinner and hotel accommodation.
DAY 6: Meknes – RABAT – LARACHE – ASILAH (340 km).
Breakfast and departure to the Atlantic Coast, Rabat being the first stop. Visit the capital of Morocco where you can meet the Royal Palace, the mausoleum of Mohammed V, Hassan Tower, the Kasbah Oudaya, etc … In the afternoon continuation to Assilah, making a stop in Larache, where to visit and wander through the places more iconic, and enjoying their sea views. Continue to Assilah, where they will spend the night. Accommodation and dinner at hotel / riad in Assilah.
DAY 7: Asilah – Tangier (40 km)
Breakfast and free time to enjoy Assilah, stroll through its streets, visit the medina, meet its walls, and relax to the charm of this city. When I agreed transfer to the port, airport or place indicated Tangier END OF OUR SERVICES…
